The School Uniform enhances the public’s image of our school and has a positive impact on student’s self esteem. It also enhances a student’s sense of belonging and pride in the school community. In addition, from a safety and security aspect, the school uniform is a useful means of identifying whether an individual on school grounds has a right to be there.
Being suitably groomed is part of the process by which students learn to engage with employers and the community. In this context, as from the commencement of 2007, denim is not acceptable for school uniform.
The School Council has endorsed the school policy that:
The Applecross Senior High School uniform has been designed by students, parents and staff so that it is comfortable, affordable and attractive.
Please download our 2013 Uniform Price List & Order Form for more details.
Any student who arrives at school out of school uniform needs to make a request for a clothing pass from the Clothing Coordinator, prior to care group. The pass is to be worn by the student and presented to all Staff members who inquire about the student’s clothing. Students who know that they will not be attired according to the school policy on a particular day are to take responsibility for providing the Clothing Coordinator with a note from their parents/guardian with an explanation. The note should be presented at the time of requesting the pass and will be processed by the Coordinator.
It should be noted by parents that non-compliance with school uniform policy will only be acceptable in an emergency situation.
Students may obtain only two unexplained Clothing Passes per term without consequences. On the third occasion students will receive After School Detention.
Applecross Senior High school students share the benefits of a reputation of high academic achievements and success in the arts, sports and community service. Please show that you are proud to be a member of this school by reflecting its good image in the way you dress.
