This is available to students who believe, and have demonstrated through the options they have chosen, that they are practical learners. Students and parents need to be aware that places in this program are limited and are only allocated after an interview and the signing of a contract. This course will consist of English, Mathematics, Career and Enterprise and Science. For management reasons, these subjects have been chosen because they are related very strongly to all work places.
The goal of the Flexible Learning Program is to prepare students for a smooth transition into further training and the workplace by gaining industry-specific skills and by networking with employers.
Students must have:
- a strong work ethic and a high attendance rate
- a demonstrated commitment to meeting deadlines
- the necessary maturity and commitment to perform in the workplace (often not in your immediate area)
- the support of parents who encourage their child to move out of their comfort zone and take responsibility for achieving their goals.
