Digital Library

We are very excited to announce that Applecross Senior High School Teaching and Learning Resource Centre has partnered with Wheelers ePlatform Digital Library to provide students with access to over 1200 ebook titles. ePlatform is a secure library lending system designed to make the borrowing and reading of eBooks simple and enjoyable. Encouraging students to read as often as possible, not only to learn but also for enjoyment, is a critical element of improving literacy for all students.

Wheelers are the largest library and school supplier in Australasia and have been in operation for more than 40 years. The Wheelers ePlatform was one of the first eBook library lending platforms for schools and public libraries in the world.

Our ePlatform Digital Library collection is growing all the time, and includes:

  • Fiction and non-fiction titles
  • Readers
  • Classics
  • New & popular titles
  • Graphic novels
  • Audio Books

Titles available in our collection have been chosen for secondary students.  There are some titles in our collection that have been restricted by year level and can’t be borrowed by our younger readers. If you wish to discuss any titles in our library please contact Donna Payton on 93149332.

What do you need to borrow eBooks?

All students at Applecross Senior High School have been registered to access the ePlatform Digital Library. They just have to have access to a computer or a mobile device/tablet on which the ePlatform App has been downloaded.

To login to our library all that is required is the student’s Connect username and the generic password of Applecross1. Once a student has signed in they will be able to create their own unique password.

Technical support and Instructions on how to access ePlatform One are available in our Resource Centre.  We are open at 7:30am, recess, lunchtime, and after school until 3:30pm.  Students are very welcome and encouraged to see us during these times for support.

How do you read eBooks?

Desktop/Laptop (PC or Mac)

Any modern web browser can be used (Chrome, Safari, IE10+, Firefox) to read titles directly on your desktop or laptop machine. The browser reader requires no additional software, provides many ways to customize how eBooks are displayed, and makes your eBooks available even after you’ve disconnected from the internet. The browser reader offers a growing variety of features for users, including:

  • Highlighting sections of text
  • Adding notes to sections of text
  • Dictionary to look up the definitions of words
  • Thesaurus to look up synonyms of words
  • Links to Google search results for selected words
  • Bookmarks
  • Early return functionality

Go to our ePlatform site: to start reading.
